As I get older, I find myself gripping onto childhood. Lately, more and more things have caused me to reminisce of my childhood days. I enjoy finding ways to incorporate items I loved as a kid, into my adult life. Recently, I have been obsessed with beauty products integrating kid-themed brands into their collection. It is the perfect juxtaposition between childhood and adulthood. It is with great excitement that I to share two beauty brands whose products bring me back to the good old days.
The first product line I discovered is Luxe by Mr. Bubble. Do you remember taking baths as a kid, using that bubble bath in the big, pink bottle with the bubble character? It was that bubble bath with the potent, but amazing, bubble gum scent. Now imagine incorporating that scent into your beauty routine with the Luxe by Mr. Bubble collection. It is incredibly charming and priced reasonable, which makes owning the entire collection a possibility. Since I just discovered this brand not too long ago, I only own four items thus far. My beauty collection includes three travel mists and a body butter in . The products I own have made me an instant fan.
The Luxe by Mr. Bubble line has three signature scents: “Original Bubble”, “Sweet and Clean” and “Sparkling Sorbet”. Each smell is playful, whimsical and perfect for everyday wear. The soft scents are not overpowering. I’m not sure if it’s because the scents remind me of childhood, but for me the scents embody a sense of comfort. According to the packaging, the “Original Bubble” fragrance features essences of coconut, banana, peach, wintergreen and Hawaiian jasmine. Don’t let that fool you though; I would describe the scent as a sweet bubble-gum, that transports me to being a kid chewing my favorite pink bubble gum. I also purchased the Travel Size “All Buttered Up Body Butter” in the “Original Bubble” scent. The Shea Butter, jojoba oil and coconut oil in the lotion makes it a game-changer for dry skin. The “Sweet and Clean” fragrance smells exactly as titled, sweet and clean. The smell reminds me of a sugary, strawberry soap. Per the packaging, the scent features pink jasmine, cream, pear, strawberries, and caramel. “Sparkling Sorbet” is a very crisp scent. This may sound strange, but this scent reminds me of a citrus-flavored cocktail blended with the fresh scent of cotton. The packaging states the scent includes notes of mango, pineapple, peach and citrus zest. I bought the travel size of these fragrances. They each were only $4! How can you beat that? The fragrances are also available in full-size mists, priced at $10.
The second product line I am eager to share is by Glamour Dolls Makeup. Glamour Dolls rolled out an awesome Lisa Frank product line, that will make any 80s and 90s kid nostalgic. As a little girl, I loved collecting Lisa Frank stickers, notebooks, folders, coloring books, etc. My favorite aspect of Lisa Frank was the fantasy element; including the brightly colored, adorable animals in a rainbow of colors. The beauty item I have from this line is the “Lisa Frank x Glamour Dolls Bitten & Bronzed Matte Bronzer”. I received it in my monthly ipsy subscription bag (you can join here for a no waitlist subscription). Besides the cutest packaging which depicts my favorite Lisa Frank animal, the rainbow leopard, the bronzer delivers a beautifully warm contour that creates amazing definition when used on the cheekbones. The matte component allows for a natural look, with no over-the-top shine; which would just compete with a highlighter. I use the product daily to deliver a precise contour.
