As a member of influenster.com, I’ve had the opportunity to receive two “VoxBoxes” from the program. The influenster VoxBoxes often include terrific, full-size products sent for the purpose of reviewing. Brands working with influenster appreciate the opportunity to receive truthful reviews from everyday consumers on various social platforms. Recently, I was thrilled to qualify for the #BossBabeVoxBox. I was sent the box complimentary from influenster for reviewing purposes.
A little more background about influenster, it’s a platform where you are able to both read and write online reviews on products in several different categories such as Makeup, Food & Snacks, Health, Beverages, Pets, Family, Retailers & Services, Home, and many more! Please note that you don’t have to be a recipient of a VoxBox to review everyday products you love. Another aspect I adore is that you can ask questions and get real answers. Looking to buy a product and notice there aren’t many reviews, or you have a specific question about the product that you cant tell from the online description, you can actually post the question on influenster.com and there are millions of members that can see your question and answer it for you. How cool is that? Yeah, you could call up the retailer and ask the question, but you never know how bias it is coming from an employee themselves. These reviews are from real consumers just like you!
The #BossBabeVoxBox I received contained four products and one promotional opportunity. I was so pleasantly surprised by the selection and quality of these items. Let’s dive right in:
Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cream Cleanser:
Trying new skincare is one of my absolute favorite things to do. Yeah, I have my favorite products in my items in my nightly skincare routine, but sometimes I discover new items that change the way my skin acts for the better. When inspecting the packaging of the Korres Greek Yoghurt Foaming Cleanser, my interest was peaked by the main ingredient…Greek Yoghurt. I’ve never used a beauty product that contains “yoghurt”. The cleanser contains all natural ingredients, so you aren’t getting any nasty, chemical-like ingredients. The scent isn’t super fragrant, which I can appreciate. I tend to dislike face-care products that smell too strongly, especially when completing nightly skincare before bed. This cleanser is the foaming variety, which provides a nice texture on the skin. After rinsing off the foam cleanser, the skin feels soft and refreshed. Korres’ Greek Yoghurt collection features 6 additional items other than the cleanser. The particular sample I received is 20mL, but the 150mL size retails at $26.00.
Nature's Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies:
It’s critical that your beauty routine starts from within. Besides healthy eating and drinking loads of water to hydrate/ clear up the skin, vitamins can work wonders. A specific vitamin that has benefitted me in the past is biotin. Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies contains Biotin, Vitamin E and Vitamin C. According to Nature Bounty’s website, Vitamin E contributes to overall skin health, whereas Vitamin C is involved in both collagen production and formation. In my experience, collagen provides a natural plumpness to the face. As you may know already, biotin is really beneficial for healthy hair, helping to increase the speed in which hair grows. The full-sized sample has a MSRP of $9.20. This size includes 80 strawberry flavored gummies, which taste delicious. Nature’s Bounty recommends taking 2 daily, preferably with a meal. I’ve been taking two each morning and I honestly have noticed my nails feeling much stronger and being less prone to breakage.
C'est Moi Purifying Charcoal Clay Facial Mask:
In the world of face masks, clay masks have always done me right. I love the texture clay provides. Not sticky, cool to the touch and very soothing. Particularly, masks with activated charcoal fight blemishes by drawing out unhealthy particles in the skin that can include dirt, smoke or pollution, chemicals and bacteria. The C’est Moi Purifying Charcoal Clay Facial Mask in the 50mL size retails for $10.00, the sample I got is 20mL. It contains natural & organic ingredients including salicylic acid, apple, olive and ginger extracts. Per the C’est Moi’s website, the clay mask gently exfoliates which helps shrink opened pores without harshly stripping layers of skin; leaving the face smooth and clear. As a frequent makeup wearer, my pores clog up easily. It’s key for me to use skincare products that draw out the imperfections. The mask has no synthetic fragrance, parabens, phthalates, sulfates, mineral oil, silicones, propylene glycol or dyes. The brand suggests using this mask 1-2 times per week by leaving it on the face, neck and chest for 15 minutes before washing it off. What I really like about this item is you can even use it as just a spot treatment when a pesky blemish is popping up (they never have good timing). I’ve never thought of using a clay mask for only a spot treatment. I thrive off learning new beauty tricks!
Eva NYC Chameleon Temporary Color Sprays:
When I saw these two Eva-NYC chameleon temporary color sprays, I couldn’t help but get excited. I used to use colored hair spray for field day and it always made me so happy. I have told myself several times that I’ve wanted to color my hair, but have never wanted it bad enough to go to a salon and dye my hair and have it there permanently. This product looks so super fun. Not only did I get one color to test out, I got two! I received the Eva-NYC chameleon temporary color sprays in Blue Haze and Pink Crush, each retailing for $10.00. Scroll down to see my review and results!
In the above selfies, you can see that I tried out the spray in Pink Haze. I was wearing maroon leggings and I knew pink would compliment the overall outfit. First of all, the spray smells AMAZING, like you just walked out of a luxury salon. The highly pigmented spray is infused with Keravis™ Protein Complex and Argan oil which has anti-breakage properties.
The spray is easy to apply, but be careful to cover your clothes before spraying. I actually went outside to spray it, I wanted to avoid getting pink all over the walls. Having dark hair, the buildable color took a lot for me to really get the pink to show. I felt I was spraying for awhile and used a lot of the product after only one try on a single hair segment. If you have dark hair, you might end up having to buy multiple bottles. In my opinion, this is definitely a product that works on all hair colors, but would show-up the best on lighter hair.
I then curled my hair to see how the product looked curled (photo on the left). I also brushed out the curls to see how the color held up (photo on the right). At first it did. I went out for the day: I got coffee, went shopping and went out to lunch over the course of a few hours. For the first couple hours, it looked great! I really loved how it looked. I felt great about it! What a fun way to experience a pop of color in my hair, with no permanency or massive expense. However, there was one aspect that I found to be problematic. After a couple hours, my entire neck and under my chin turned hot pink. It was too easily transferable to skin and clothes. If you do purchase these sprays, make sure to spray with gloves. My nails ended up being stained a light pink. I will say, it was very easy to wipe most of it off with soap and water. I was wearing a black shirt but if I had worn a light color shirt, it would’ve easily been stained. So that is the one downfall of this temporary hair color.
Promotional Code for Taste of Home Special Delivery:
The #BossBabeVoxBox also provided recipients with a promotional code for Special Delivery from Taste of Home. The promotion allows for 1 free box, that’s valued at $80.00. If you read the fine print, you are responsible for any shipping costs. However, you’re getting a box valued at $80.00, which is well worth the minimal shipping cost. I haven’t taken advantage of the promotion yet, but I know this is a deal I can’t miss out on!
**Now, for the expected disclaimer: I received these products complimentary from influenster for testing purposes**
