Deodorant, body wash and soap are all necessary for a healthy, daily life. What if I told you, your personal care products may be more harmful, than helpful? Many personal care items in today’s market contain harmful chemicals, that can contribute to negative health in the long run. Not until recently, have I taken this fact to heart. I realized the need to buy and use safer products. Native is helping me make that switch. The company provided me with natural and safe personal care products, free of harmful ingredients such as aluminum, parabens and sulfates. I don’t know about you, but I rather not have aluminum, parabens and sulfates on my skin. I prefer the ingredients Native uses, which include common household ingredients like coconut oil (my ultimate go-to), Shea butter and baking soda.
It’s time to treat your skin. I’ve mentioned this in a past post, but skin is the largest organ of the human body. Similar to consuming safe food and drinks to help our health internally, we also need to do this externally. I’m pulling much of my information from Native’s website, but I love the values strongly expressed throughout their website. Native is a company that cares about consumers, demonstrating this through their commitment to products derived of ONLY safe ingredients. Want more reassurance? Native actually works with individuals including PhDs and former NASA rocket engineers to dive deep into the benefits of each natural ingredient present. Even if it’s the easier/cheaper route, Native is never going to use ingredients they’re uncomfortable with. If you aren’t 100% satisfied, Native offers full refunds with no questions asked. That’s how much confidence they have.
I couldn’t have been more thrilled when Native reached out to me, asking to work together. They were kind enough to send me a complimentary Native Body Set in the fragrance of my choice.

Choosing the scent was a difficult decision. I was torn between a few options, but as always, coconut prevailed. I chose the Native Coconut & Vanilla set. This is the most popular deodorant scent of theirs. Although I feel all their scents could be unisex, there are women, men and teen categories to choose from.
When I received the package in the mail, I eagerly tore into it. As soon as I opened it, I was instantly greeted by the most sweet, creamy and tropical coconut scent. I noticed it was a soft scent, however, it was quite present. I was impressed with the packaging. As you can see in the picture above, the set neatly houses 5 items, all in the Coconut & Vanilla scent. The Native products include 1 deodorant, 1 body wash, 2 bar soaps and 1 mini deodorant.
Deodorant is something we all use, hopefully. If you’re using something daily, you really should know what it’s made of. The Native Coconut & Vanilla deodorant is made of natural ingredients including, but not limited to: Earth Wax, Baking Soda, Coconut Oil, Shea Butter and Probiotics. These ingredients are well-known, and I feel comfortable putting them on my body. Plus, this item is formulated for sensitive skin. It’s is a generous portion at 2.65 oz. This item can be bought on its own for $12.00, or within the body set like I received for $30.00. You can select a one time purchase option, or subscribe. By subscribing, you save 17% and can pick a subscription for 1, 2, 3 or 4 months. Super convenient!
At first, I was a little nervous that this all-natural alternative wouldn’t be as effective. Let me tell you, this works great! I’ve been using it for over a week now, and I have zero complaints. The solid product itself has a silky smooth consistency that goes on easy. The sweet and creamy scent becomes milder throughout the day. I appreciate that the fragrance isn’t too strong, and doesn’t stick to my skin and clothes. Since this is aluminum free, it won’t stain clothes. Always a positive.
The deodorant helped combat odor throughout the day, while preventing underarm perspiration. There’s nothing worse than having inconvenient underarm, sweat stains on your shirt. I’ll definitely continue to use this deodorant. I really feel great about using this. The sweet fragrance is feminine and pure. I never thought I’d say I’m obsessed with a deodorant, but it’s true!
Native Body Wash:
I love lathering up with a good body wash. The body care set came with Native’s Coconut & Vanilla Body Wash. I was surprised by the size, containing 11.5 oz of body wash. This means it’ll last awhile. The container is rectangular, but quite thin. This makes it a perfect fit on any shower self or ledge. Sometimes round bottles take up too much space. This body wash can be purchased on its own for only $10.00, or like the deodorant, you can save 17% by subscribing.
In my experience, sets claiming to have items with all the same fragrance, tend to be misleading. Each product might have a different variation of the scent. For example, an Eau de Parfum might come in a spray and lotion, but they might smell completely different. That being said, this body wash smells EXACTLY as the deodorant does. The scent it spot on!
This natural and safe body wash has no harmful ingredients. When I first used the wash, I wasn’t sure what color or consistency to expect; For me, two important factors of any body wash. The body wash is clear, with no unnatural coloring. Sometimes unnatural colors in body washes make me a little suspicious. The body wash formula is gel-like, and a little goes a long way. A small drop provides and intense lather. After use, the coconut & vanilla scent was left softy on my skin. I could feel how moisturized my skin felt from this product. I think the thick lather had something to do with it. Once getting out of the shower, getting dressed and going about my day, I could tell my skin still felt so soft and moisturized. I love how the effects of the body wash lasted throughout the day
Native Bar Soaps:
Some days I rather shower with bar soap. Bar soap can also be used to display out in a soap dish for guests to wash their hands with. I was extremely thrilled that the body care set came with not one, but two Native Coconut & Vanilla Bar Soaps. Whether you get the set or not, all bar soaps come in a two-pack. Each bar includes 5 oz of soap. If you plan to buy the bar soap on its own, you can for only $10.00!
This isn’t your typical bar soap, as the website mentions, it’s spa-worthy. Many times, I find bar soap to cause my skin to dry out extremely easy. Native’s bar soaps however have nourishing ingredients that do their job to clean, while leaving lingering moisturizing effects. Some of the natural ingredients included in the bar soap are Shea Butter, Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Acid, Coconut Oil and Palm Kernel Acid. Native also states that all of their palm ingredients have been sustainably harvested. How can you not feel good about that? The bar soap has a great lather to it. I find the scent to linger on my skin more after using the bar soap, than it did when using the body wash. Both products however made my skin extremely soft and combatted against dry skin.
Native Mini Deodorant:
Anything miniaturized is adorable in my eyes. Included in the set was the Native Mini Deodorant, a new favorite for me. Besides it being insanely cute in appearance, this is simply a terrific idea. Are you ever on the go and realize either you forgot to apply deodorant or maybe you didn’t apply enough and need to freshen up? This mini portion is perfect to throw in your handbag or whilst traveling in your go-to cosmetics case. It is only 0.35 oz, but that is more than enough for an item you use to freshen up once in awhile. It has the same ingredients and formula I discussed earlier for the full-size version.
You currently can’t purchase this item on Native’s website, however, you can purchase one for only $2.99 at Target. Native’s products recently launched at Target which makes life a little easier. Online shopping is convenient, but then you have to wait a few business days until you receive the item. Instead, you can pick Native products up day of on your typical Target run.
